Veezu Raises Over £1,600 for Barnsley Hospice

30 April 2024

Veezu took on Barnsley Hospice's Accumulator Challenge last month, raising £1,600 for that charity.

In support of the annual challenge, Veezu pledged to donate a percentage of their fares from every ride taken within the last two weeks of March within the Barnsley area. The local team also held an Easter raffle for staff, driver-partners, and friends in a bid to maximise the donation.

Veezu joined 19 other local businesses in taking on the Accumulator Challenge, on what was the 30th anniversary of Barnsley Hospice. Over the past seven years, the event has raised over £106,000.

Simon Atkinson, Corporate Partnership Manager of Barnsley Hospice, said: "We're incredibly grateful for Veezu's involvement in the 2024 Accumulator Challenge. Their amazing £1.600 of funds raised will help us provide vital care for those most in need within our community. This marks Veezu's second year of getting involved in the challenge, and we really appreciate their support."

Barnsley Hospice announced that this year's Accumulator Challenge has raised an astonishing £25.024.

Sacha Skinner, Regional Marketing Manager at Veezu said:

"We're so thrilled to hear how successful the accumulator challenge has been this year! It's amazing to see how the community has come together once again to support Barnsley Hospice, a charity that is unbelievable at what they do.

We also want to say a massive thank you to everyone who booked a ride with Veezu during March. Every journey has contributed towards this amazing cause, and we are truly grateful for your support."

The donation to Barnsley Hospice was made from the Funded by Veezu initiative.
